Surprise, surprise! Actress Kate Winslet is once again a married woman.
Winslet's publicist confirmed on Thursday (December 27) that the 37-year-old Oscar darling married Ned Rock'nRoll, nephew of music mogul Richard Branson, in a very private ceremony in New York earlier this month, according to People.
The ceremony was so private, in fact, that neither the bride's nor the groom's parents even knew about it, according to the U.K. newspaper The Sun. Instead, Winslet's "Titanic" and "Revolutionary Road" co-star Leonardo DiCaprio gave the bride away.
The ceremony was attended by Winslet's two children from previous marriages, Mia and Joe, along with "a very few friends and family," her publicist added.
"The couple had been engaged since the summer," the rep said. The two first sparked dating rumors after they were seen vacationing at Branson's Caribbean home in the fall of 2011. They later confirmed the rumors when they showed up to the 2012 Golden Globes arm in arm.
This is Winslet's third marriage. She had previously been married to British director Jim Threapleton (from 1998 to 2001) and "Skyfall" director Sam Mendes (2003 to 2010). Rock'nRoll, 34, was previously married to British socialite Eliza Pearson.
The big question remains: Will Kate be adopting her new hubby's rockstar surname? Probably not. According to reports, Ned (who reportedly works for Virgin Galactic, his uncle's space flight venture) was actually born Ned Abel Smith before changing his name.
