Theodora Richards was arrested at 10.45pm on Tuesday night in the fashionable SoHo neighbourhood in which she lives.
She was detained after allegedly being spotted painting the phrase 'T (heart) A' on the side of the building.
Fashion model Richards, 25, is also accused of having a small amount of marijuana and hydrocodone pills and a paint marker on her.
Richards, who wore a pink woolly hat, a black coat and tight black jeans did not speak and did not enter a plea during the four minute hearing at Manhattan Criminal Court.
The court was told by prosecutors how Richards told officers, 'I hope I don't get into trouble' and 'I don't have a prescription for them,' when she was arrested.
She will appear again in court on April 21 and is charged with making graffiti, possession of a graffiti instrument, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Richards did not speak as she left the courthouse and was driven away.
