Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards may not have lived a live that was necessarily suited for children's literature, but the star has revealed plans to release a children's book based on his own life experiences.
The Stones legend will team up with daughter Theodora to work on picture book Gus and Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar, and is based on Richards' experiences with his grandfather Theodore Augustus Dupree, who first introduced Richard to the music world.
"I have just become a grandfather for the fifth time, so I know what I'm talking about. The bond, the special bond, between kids and grandparents is unique and should be treasured," says Richards of his new venture.
"This is a story of one of those magical moments. May I be as great a grandfather as Gus was to me."
Daughter Theodora added: "When I found out they wanted me to be a part of this project, my immediate instinct was to say yes, and I am so happy I did. To be able to explore my father's relationship with his grandfather was a gift in itself."
Gus and Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar will be released on 9 September 2014, by the Little Brown Book Group.
