If anyone truly embodies the partier inside college kids everywhere, it's Ke$ha. Ahead of the 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards, the pop tart opened up about what makes performing for students such a blast.
"College kids are one of my favorite audiences to play for because they are wild, rambunctious. They've been sitting in class all day and all they want to do is get out and make out with some hot chick," the Warrior singer explained. "And when I play shows there's just all the wildness in the world happening and it's really infectious energy."
Ke$ha will bring her antics to MTV this April in her documentary series "Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life."
That's the sort of joie de vivre attitude that 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards performers like Zedd (who will close out the show with "Clarity"), Alt-J, HAIM, Jake Bugg, Timeflies, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis as well as Twenty One Pilots might want to take to the stage during the show, which takes place on Thursday (March 14) in Austin, Texas.
The Woodie Awards Festival will take place during the annual South By Southwest Music Festival and is open to all SXSW badge holders and music fans over the age of 18. In addition to buzzy performances and a slew of super-cool nominees, the night will also kick off the MTV Jams stage with Trinidad James, Travi$ Scott and Joey Bada$$ in tow.
The 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards will then take over the night beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT. MTV and mtvU will air a half-hour "2013 Woodie Awards" special on March 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Woodie Award voting runs through Thursday at 4 p.m. ET.
