The title of Ke$ha's brand-new MTV series says it all: "My Crazy Beautiful Life."
After all, beginning with the breakout success with hits like "Tik Tok" and "We R Who We R" — and continuing through the recording and release of her Warrior album — Ke$h's life has definitely been both crazy and beautiful. And, as she told, her new series definitely doesn't make any attempt hide either of those two things ... it brings fans both the real and the surreal.
"I just wanted to document my life, because it's so insane; I wanted somebody to catch it on film, so I can watch it when I'm old and saggy and be like 'My life was so crazy!'" Ke$h told. "What you get in the show is real; it's not scripted or ... thought out at all. It's just my life. It's very real and honest."
On the show — which premieres Tuesday at 11 p.m. ET/10 p.m. CT on MTV — Ke$ha teams with her brother, journalist and documentarian Lagan Sebert, to bring fans an intimate and honest portrayal of her wild life; it's a project few of her pop contemporaries would dare attempt, which is part of why Ke$h decided to do it. In case you didn't know, she most definitely isn't your average pop princess.
"[My brother] quit his job, totally just on a prayer, and started filming my life. And for the past two and a half years, he's been filming and he has not put down the camera," she said. "It's very guerilla, do-it-yourself, kinda-ghetto style. A lot of it has to be subtitled."
We'd expect nothing less. But what else will Ke$ha unveil on "My Crazy Beautiful Life?" Well, simply put, everything ... and then some.
"Because it was my brother filming, there was no wall, no barrier, it was real and raw; just everything from breakdowns to triumphs and make outs and mornings after, just everything," she said. "I couldn't bullsh-- the camera, there was no acting, no faking, there was no story, there was just my brother filming my life."
