The Hollywood star joined host Rachael Ray in the kitchen and knocked up a tasty looking croque madame.
But asked about her own cooking skills, she quipped: 'I like to go out to dinner.'
She then added: 'I know how to use a microwave. My mum never lets me in the kitchen - she does everything. My mum is shocked right now.'
Host Ray encouraged Kirsten's mum to get in touch to try to get her own cooking show.
She joked: 'Hey if you want to send me a demo reel I know people at the Food Network.'
Kirsten added her boyfriend - who she said viewers would not know - does not cook for her.
She said: 'He juices for me.'
