The enquiry into the tragic death of Kirsty MacColl has recently been reopened following the discovery of new evidence. The popular singer/songwriter, daughter of folk singer Ewan MacColl, was hit by a speedboat belonging to one of Mexico's wealthiest businessmen while scuba-diving with her sons in a restricted diving area off Cozumel, Mexico in December 2000. Her mother, teacher/choreographer Jean Newlove, has been campaigning to find the truth behind her daughter's death, and a new documentary following her progress was aired at the Edinburgh Festival on August 28th. The programme (working title: Who Killed Kirsty MacColl?) is a BBC Four production and will be shown on the channel in the autumn. For more information visit www.kirstymaccoll.com
