The San Fran online rap sensation Kreayshawn will is directing the first clip from the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album.
In addition to being known for the skyrocketing success of her single 'Gucci Gucci', Kreayshawn was also a student of The Berkeley Digital Film Institute and has directed video clips before, notably for rapper Lil B.
So Warner tapped her to supply a treatment for the clip for Red Hot Chili Peppers forthcoming single 'The Adventures Of Raindance Maggie' from their next album I'm With You.
MTV interviewed her about the gig on the set of the clip. She said it was crazy to even get to provide a treatment, let alone be picked to shoot the video.
' went to film school and stuff, but, like, I never thought it was going to translate into something this big," she said.
Apparently she and Chili Pepper frontman Anthony Keidis shared the same vision for the clip.
"I talked to Anthony a couple times, and he was like, 'I want to do a couple changes to the video,' but all the changes he had were, like, stuff we were already doing with the video, like slow-motion and stuff. So I was like, 'We're dialed in,' " she said to MTV. "Everyone was completely ready and they came here, they're excited, which makes me even happier. ... There's a good vibe everywhere."
And she reassured RHCP fans that it will be good, saying, "It's got that organic feel, but it still gives the band a great shine and they look f---ing awesome. They are looking off the chain, man. Anthony's in there looking like a swimsuit model."
'The Adventures Of Raindance Maggie' will be released on July 18, and I'm With You is set for a August 26 release date.
