Overview
Krept and Konan are the winners of MTV Brand New 2015, following a hard fought battle with the ten hottest new acts for the year ahead, with Saint Raymond coming in as a close runner-up.
This announcement comes after two incredible nights of unique live performances in London. On Wednesday, pop superstar and 2012 MTV Brand New nominee Charli XCX, along with 2015 shortlist acts James Bay and Sinead Harnett blew the crowds away with their performances at the Islington Assembly Hall.
The following night, electro chart toppers Clean Bandit and MTV Brand New 2015 shortlist acts Years & Years and Saint Raymond then performed at the same venue, with the entire crowd up dancing on their feet.
Krept and Konan came together in 2013 as two unsigned rappers with a highly engaged fan-base. Thanks to that the duo finished up the year with a top 20 chart position, a MOBO award, a sold-out tour and a record deal with Virgin EMI. Now working on their major label debut with the likes of Naughty Boy, Dahi and Zaytoven, the boys are losing none of their creative sensibility as they discover new music inspirations. Having been the favourites to win throughout the MTV Brand New campaign, with the most votes every week and now with the title of MTV Brand New Winners 2015, they are on the periphery of greatness and a very exciting year ahead.
