Kristen Stewart And Ben Affleck To Laugh It Up In Con Man Comedy

After sinking her teeth into more dramatic roles, Kristen Stewart is ready to branch out into comedy. "The Twilight Saga" actress has confirmed she will star alongside Ben Affleck in the movie "Focus."

The story revolves around a seasoned con man (Affleck) who takes on an up-and-comer (Stewart) to teach her the ways of a good grift. "I can confirm that rumor," she told the Huffington Post. "It's a comedy. I'm really excited about it. We start shooting in April." But with April still a few months away, she added she "would love to find some micro-project before then."

Stewart was first attached to the part back in November. The duo behind "Crazy, Stupid, Love," Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, will write the script and direct the film. At one point, "Crazy, Stupid, Love" co-stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling had been attached the project. But, shortly after Stewart was rumored to be a part of the film, Affleck opened up about getting her on board, telling E! News, "She's terrific."

The casting follows the end of "The Twilight Saga" and nears the premiere of her next film, "On The Road," on December 21. In addition to "Focus," the actress has expressed interest in adapting the dark family drama, "Lie Down in Darkness," for the big screen.

"It's not getting there," she said. "It's difficult to make, because it's kind of incredibly, really incredibly epic in scale, but it doesn't have superheroes in it, you know what I mean? Also, I think ... it needs to happen natural. I don't even know why I mentioned it before. I was just overly enthusiastic. I'm still a week off from knowing exactly [what's next]."
