Kristen Stewart To Try On 'The Big Shoe' With Jim Sturgess

Post-"Twilight" Kristen Stewart has been fairly busy signing onto a steady stream of new projects. She recently joined "Focus," a romantic comedy-thriller that was supposed to co-star Ben Affleck until scheduling problems caused his exit, and now we have word coming out of the Berlin International Film Festival that Stewart as found another new role.

Deadline is reporting that Stewart will appear alongside Jim Sturgess and Elizabeth Banks in "The Big Shoe," a new film from director Steven Shainberg, who's best known for the erotic "Secretary" starring Maggie Gyllenhaal.

According to the initial report, Stewart will play a "muse" named Delphi, hired to inspire a shoe designer (Sturgess) to work again so that his scheming family may mass-produce his designs for cash. Shainberg said that "The Big Shoe" will fit tonally with "Secretary," combining "eroticism and humor."

At this point, it's unclear which project Stewart will film next. In a recent interview with MTV News, she spoke about the difficulty of getting another project, "Lie Down in Darkness," to the big screen. Additionally, Ben Affleck's departure from "Focus" may impact that film's future and Stewart's involvement in yet unforeseen ways. When MTV News' Josh Horowitz spoke with Affleck at the National Board of Review Awards, the actor-director explained his choice to walk away.

"Basically I'm doing this movie called 'Live By Night' and I'm trying to meet this schedule, so that I can have it released at the right time," he said. "And basically I haven't gotten enough writing done; it became clear that if I took that job — it was in Buenos Aires for three months — I'd have to miss the deadline. I had to choose between getting the movie out when I wanted to or doing that movie. Reluctantly, I chose the latter but I love those guys, I love Kristen. I was really excited to work with her. I think the movie is going to be fabulous. I'm sure they'll find a great guy for it."
