The Commonwealth Games are a mini-Olympics held every four years between the countries in the British Commonwealth, including England, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Scotland, Northern Ireland and a number of countries in Africa and the Caribbean.
The opening ceremonies at this year's games included a performance by Rod Stewart while the closing ceremonies, coming up on Sunday, will include Kylie Minogue, Lulu and Deacon Blue along with newcomers Donnie MacLean and the Prides.
David Grevemberg, Glasgow 2014 Executive Director, said "We are delighted to reveal the glittering line-up of Scottish and international talent joining us in Hampden Park for the closing ceremony. There is so much for so many people to celebrate. Our Commonwealth athletes have been inspirational and the people of Glasgow and Scotland will give them and all our visitors a great send-off."
Kylie Minogue has had two major U.S. hits with Locomotion (1987 / #3) and Can't Get You Out of My Head (2001 / #7) while Lulu topped the U.S. charts in 1967 with To Sir, With Love. Both have had a long list of hits in Britain. Deacon Blue were never able to break onto the American charts although they did have three top ten hits in Britain and seven in Ireland.
