She came, promoted her new album a bit, spun in a chair and left. Kylie Minogue has announced that she has officially quit The Voice UK after just one series on the talent show.
Minogue joined the show in 2014 alongside Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, but has since announced that she will not be returning for further shows. The singer used the BBC show as platform to promote her single 'Into The Blue' and album Kiss Me Once, which charted at No.12 and No.2 respectively. Minogue announced the news on Twitter, signing off with a plug for her 2014 tour, writing:
#Lovers, due to timing of my tour I won’t be back next season for The Voice UK😢 Thanks to all who supported! Hope to see you on my KMO tour!
Minogue's role on the show was hailed as a triumph, as it pulled impressive viewing figures due to the lack of Jessie J, but sales of the show's winner, Jermain Jackman have paled in comparison to that of runner-up, Sally Barker, who is selling better in this week's midweek chart with songs performed on the show's final.
