Young London troubadours Larrikin Love, London lyricist Jamie T, and Liverpudlian newcomers The Maybes? are all set to play intimate, free gigs at Fopp stores across the UK.
The hotly tipped Larrikin Love - who take their unusual name from frontman Edward's surname - have already caused quite a stir with their debut EP Six Queens. Their musical fusion of ska, punk and reggae, with catchy riffs and lyrics that reference quintessentially London places and experiences, has earned them comparisons with the Libertines.
They will tour no less than 3 Fopp's across the UK:
Wednesday 27th September - 1pm - Fopp Bristol Park Street
Thursday 28th September - 1pm - Fopp Brighton
Friday 29th Sepember - 1pm - Fopp Tottenham Court Road
London's Jamie Treays - aka Jamie T - will showcase his great lyrical talent and support the release of the new single Sheila, which is sure to make him a star. Signed to Virgin, Jamie brings his blend of rap/reggae/punk to Fopp:
Monday 16th October, 5pm - Fopp Manchester
Liverpool talent The Maybes? have recently signed to the independent label Xtra Mile. After building up a loyal core of fans in their native Liverpool, they are about to unleash their debut EP, Olympia, packed with raw, spirited rock and roll tunes, onto the rest of the UK. Theirs is a unified sound that draws on their experiences together, their Liverpudlian heritage and their uniquely sunny outlook on life The NME says: "The Maybes? Are the first Northern band since Oasis to successfully fuse working class arrogance with beer soaked tunes." Catch them on:
Thursday 19th October, 5pm - Fopp Camden
Larrikin Love, Jamie T and The Maybes will form part of the institution that is Fopp in-stores - Franz Ferdinand, The Kooks, and the Mystery Jets have all played at Fopp stores in recent times.
