Zermatt, 31th January 2012 – With the hip-hop queen Ms. Lauryn Hill and the New York musician Peter Cincotti, Zermatt Unplugged has now completed its line-up for the Marquee Stage and the Vernissage. Unusually beautiful moments are also promised by the Sunnegga Sessions, a new series of concerts in the ski area, which is programmed to start at sunset.
A style-goddess of the 90's is back, and Zermatt Unplugged is proud to welcome her: Ms. Lauryn Hill. After not hearing much about her for some time, 2012 now promises to be the year of the comeback of the ex-Fugees singer. She won no less than five Grammy's with her solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and is regarded as being the most successful R'n'B act since Michael Jackson. She produced the most successful hip-hop album of all time with the Fugees.
Ms. Lauryn Hill has already rapped unplugged and with acoustic guitar on her MTV Unplugged 2.0 album.
Peter Cincotti is the name of the Saturday evening act in the Vernissage. Influenced by the various genres in his home town of New York, it's the classically beautiful ballads and a casual sound between jazz and rock that makes the talented pianist Cincotti so fascinating. He achieved his greatest success in Switzerland, Italy and France with the Song Goodbye Philadelphia.
Sunnegga Sessions
Atmospheric concerts staged at 2,288 metres above sea level, performed by the talented singer-songwriters Anna Aaron und James Vincent McMorrow: that's the Sunnegga Sessions, which are programmed to start at sunset. A welcome by an open fire after a day on the mountain, a hot soup, and then 45 minutes of acoustic music. Zermatt Unplugged will be starting the advance sales for this exclusive side event in the next few days.
