The RIAA announced their Gold and Platinum Awards for July on Thursday with the number of awards rather light compared to past months.
In Gold Singles, christian singer Stephen Curtis Chapman received an award for the song Cinderella.
Album sales have obviously taken a bit of a hit as of late as only six received awards (while 54 singles made Gold or Platinum) and none are by veteran artists. Justin Bieber (2), One Direction, Kid Cudi, Kenny Chesney and Fransesca Battistelli took the honors for the month.
In Long Form Video, it was all Led Zeppelin as their self-titled video received three awards, its 11th, 12th and 13th.
