The singer – who has been in a relationship with boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa for five years – wants to become a mother one day but wants to focus on her career at the moment.
Leona, 25, told InStyle magazine: "I'll hold off having kids. For sure. I think forty-something is a good age. But maybe a little old to have your first one, but there's no rush."
As well as focusing on her career, the pop star is determined to continue to speak about animal rights.
Leona – who is a committed vegetarian – explained: "I really believe in standing up for what you believe in. So many people in entertainment are just in it for the money and that's just not what I'm about. I'm a very feisty and passionate person."
The 'Happy' singer is so committed to the welfare of animals she refuses to wear any animal products and only dons ethical clothing.
