Lloyd Cole to release 3 albums in US

Legendary singer/songwriter Lloyd Cole plans to release three albums in the span of six weeks in the United States via the One Little Indian label. The hat trick begins with March 30's "Music in a Foreign Language," issued last year in Europe by Sanctuary.

The set was recorded with help from guitarists Neil Clark and Dave Derby, who played in Cole's bands the Commotions and the Negatives, respectively.

On April 20, the label will issue "Etc.," which Cole says is a "lost album," recorded between 1995's "Love Story" and 2000's "Negatives," on which he covers Bob Dylan's "You're a Big Girl Now." Finally, the purely instrumental 18-track ambient electronic collection "Plastic Wood" will complete the blitz on May 11. Both albums received European release in 2001 via Megaworld.

On his official Web site, Cole reports that the five original members of the Commotions will reform in October for a brief slate of gigs in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the band's debut album, "Rattlesnakes."
