Loretta Lynn has been forced to reschedule her first two shows of 2012 to allow her additional time to recover from knee surgery.
The country legend had total knee replacement surgery back in August and, at the time, canceled all dates through early-September. Her recovery has been much slower than expected and was complicated in October when she contracted pneumonia.
That's not to say that Lynn has not stayed semi-busy. Her daughter, Patsy Lynn Russell, told the AP that she has been rehearsing with her band to get back in shape for touring and is only canceling the two shows because her doctor advised her to take a couple of more weeks to get back to peak form. As a matter of fact, Lynn said she's feeling so good that she "might even put her dancing jig back in the show."
The cancellations effect shows in Ashland, KY and Durham, NC, which have been rescheduled to February and April. Her next regular date is January 21 in Miami, OK.
