Lostprophets stormed XFM studios last night with a live session on the Steve Harris show.
The Welsh rockers from Pontypridd led by vocalist Ian Watkins told Steve Harris they had to ditch songs and producers to make 'The Betrayed'.
Lostprophets have spilled the beans on the turbulent genesis of fourth album, 'The Betrayed'. The superstar metallers were the latest to feature in 'An Evening With…' on The O2 Evening Show with Steve Harris.
On the subject of beginning the album with producer John Feldman, Ian Watkins said.
"We had an idea in our head and we thought a producer would help us realise the idea, but the only people who could help us was ourselves.
"It was like Luke [Skywalker] and Obi Wan turning his targeting computer off. You've just got to trust yourself".
The band went on to state that many songs from the Feldman sessions would never surface.
"A couple of them [made it on to the album]… the core took a different path. A lot of it was not used and will never see the light of day".
