Lou Reed has stated that the new material he has recorded with Metallica is 'awe inspiring'.
The singer, who has wrote ten songs with Metallica which will feature on a as-yet-untitled album, revealed that they have re-recorded some of the music he wrote for the musical version of Frank Wedekind's Lulu.
''The version of the Lulu music I did with Metallica is awe inspiring. It’s maybe the best thing done by anyone, ever. It could create another planetary system. I’m not joking, and I’m not being egotistical, Reed told the New York Magazine.
He added that new versions ''will probably come out by November."
The album has yet to be given an official release date.
Meanwhile, Metallica will play next month's Sonisphere festival as part of the Big Four, which also includes Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeath.
