MARIANNE FAITHFULL'S life story is to be turned into a movie.
The singer, a former girlfriend of Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger, announced today that it would be adapted from her 1994 autobiography.
Speaking to the BBC, she said:"It won't happen right away but we have found a director who I trust who wants to make a film of the book."
Faithfull found fame in the 1960s and developed a reputation for being a party animal, being linked to Bob Dylan as well as Jagger.
The 62-year-old admitted that her life had been "a great story", but added that she would have no choice in who played her in the as-yet-untitled film.
She said: "I'm not getting involved. I'll read the script, when it's ready, which isn't for a long time, and then I'll leave it to the director and the actress he chooses.
"I don't want to have much to do with it. I want to read the script and like the script and then I'm going to let go of it and let them do what they want. That's the way to do it."
Faithfull is currently preparing to release her 22nd studio album and will play a one off show at London's Royal Festival Hall on July 20th.
