Marilyn Manson no longer has a record deal. His label Interscope dumped the singer this week following declining sales of his recent albums.
Manson's latest album 'The High End Of Low' stalled at around 120,000 sales in the USA. Gold is 500,000 in America.
Manson told UK's Metal Hammer "We've just been released from our record contract with Interscope so I think a lot of the creative control on which my hands were tied on a lot of choices – the music videos – things like that. And the first example is the newest video, they clearly wouldn't have allowed me to make that video. So we started writing new songs on the road – a bit like [David Bowie's album] 'Aladdin Sane' – I think people can expect a new record a lot sooner than we [expected]".
Meanwhile, fans in the USA will be treated to complete performances of three of Manson's classic albums. Manson will perform 'Holywood', 'Mechanical Animals' and 'Antichrist Superstar' at various shows on his upcoming American tour as well as some select European dates.
