Producer and DJ Mark Ronson has revealed he has finished his fourth solo album and has been working with Action Bronson, Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa.
Speaking to Cuepoint Music, Ronson explained that he has been in the studio with three of the most exciting names in contemporary hip-hop.
"There’s this whole new wave of young rap talent that I find invigorating," he explained.
The news concerning Bronson may not come as a surprise to some: the gourmand rapper was set to be Ronson and Seb Chew's guest at the Digital Soundboy stage at Notting Hill carnival this summer. There is no word yet on whether any of the three rappers will feature on Ronson's fourth LP.
Also in the interview he discussed teaming up with Duran Duran for the second time as produce. This time he has enlisted the help of Nile Rodgers to what sounds like spectacular effect. "It’s the first time they’ve worked with Nile since 'Notorious,' so it goes without saying that they have some kind of fucking magic chemistry."
Ronson also revealed that he has scored Mortdecai, the new drama featuring Johnny Depp and Ewan McGregor. "It’s the first movie I have scored and some of my favorite records of all time have been film soundtracks, so that’s been really exciting as well."
Mortdecai is set for release in 30 January 2015 in the UK and 6 February in the US.
There is no confirmed release date for Mark Ronson's fourth album.
