Prog-rock juggernaut The Mars Volta have been trying out new songs live and fans have been filming it.
Back in May, Cedric Bixler-Zavala said that the band's sixth album was almost done after they road-testing some tunes under the name of The Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group.
Now they're roadtesting songs under the name The Mars Volta in Europe and, of course, fans are capturing the performances for posterity.
Antiquiet alerts us to three videos of new songs, I'm Not Running Away (previously known as Aegis), Trinkets Pale The Room (previously known as Moon), and Walk The Plank (previously known as Molochwalk).
The uploader writes that during their third gig in Helsinki, Finland, the Mars Volta played new material for the first hour of an 80-minute show.
The Mars Volta go on tour with Soundgarden later in July, and will appear at Splendour In The Grass as well as doing sideshows around the nation.
