Mary J. Blige To Celebrate 'My Life' With New York Concert

Mary J. Blige will celebrate the 17-year anniversary of "My Life" with a New York concert.

The Queen of Hip-Hop soul will revisit her 1994 sophomore album at Terminal 5 on Nov. 23, according to MTV News. The performance will come two days after the release of her latest album, "My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act I)."

"I think 'My Life' is so relevant now and will always be relevant," the singer told MTV. "It's etched in stone in the music world and people's personal lives because it was the very first time that someone said something that people were thinking… I was speaking from my own life and my own trials and tribulations. Turns out 4 million other people were feeling the exact same thing at the same time."

Calling "My Life," which went triple-platinum, a "self-help book," Blige said "My Life II" will address similar themes. Expected collaborators on the album include producers Swizz Beats, Danja and Stargate, with current single "Someone To Love Me (Naked)" (a remix of Diddy-Dirty Money's "Someone To Love Me") finding her team up with Diddy and Lil Wayne.
