Trip-hop legends Massive Attack and folk-rock giant Frank Turner have been named as the headliners at the first ever OnBlackheath Festival, which is taking place in September of this year in London. Details below.
The new event, which takes place on Blackheath Common on 13-14 September 2014 has today announced the bands that will headline the event with a number of smaller names also on the line-up. The Radiophonic Workshop, Stealing Sheep, Charlie Boyer and The Voyeurs, The Wytches, Kid Wave and Don Letts (who will be playing a DJ set) have also been confirmed to perform. Massive Attack will headline the Saturday night while Turner will top the bill on Sunday.
Gilles Peterson will also curate the Worldwide Stage at the festival, where Hiatus Kaiyote, BadBadNotGood, Swindle, Ibibio Sound Machine, Zara McFarlane and Anushka will perform. The event will also cater (quite literally) to food lovers, with a dedicated culinary stage at the festival, with a number of big-name chefs cooking up something a little more impressive than a soggy burger in a bun.
