Bookies have slashed the odds on X Factor winner Matt Cardle securing the Christmas number one spot.
The 27-year-old former painter and decorator won this year’s series last night (December 12) with a cover of Biffy Clyro’s ‘Many Of Horror.
The song, retitled ‘When We Collide’, has now been released as a single and is 2/7 favourite to top the festive chart.
Trashmen are 3/1 secon favourites, while Cage Against The Machine’s re-working of John Cage’s silent song ‘4’33’ is at 6/1.
Meanwhile, book makers Williams Hill said they were taking over 130 bets a minute during the X Factor final.
The company’s turnover during the series of over £2million, spokesman Rupert Adams told Gigwise.
