Following September's triumphant gig with thecocknbullkid and DELS, hush returns for the fourth gig in the series in the venue's ornate, 200 capacity Elgar Room on 30th October.
Teaming up with Chess Club, this months hush will feature live performances from Liverpool's electro pop foursome Wave Machines and the much-hyped Micachu and the Shapes as well as a very special DJ set by Young & Lost DJs.
hush is part of the Royal Albert Hall's initiative to support breakthrough UK talent, giving new artists the platform to play at this historic venue early in their career. The series also introduces the Royal Albert Hall to a wider audience of young music enthusiasts.
Headlining October's hush are the critically lauded Wave Machines who count Xfm's John Kennedy as well as Radio 1's Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens as fans. Wave Machines produce dance-able rapturous pop and will be launching their new single on Chess Club records 'The Greatest Escape We Ever Made' at October's hush.
Playing in support to Wave Machines will be Micachu & The Shapes, fronted by the irrepressible Micachu who Time Out recently called 'one of London's most interesting songwriters'. Classically trained composer, Micachu is no ordinary popstar, using a hoover onstage and making her own instruments, catch her at hush before she gets huge.
'We're really pleased with the continuing success of hush at the Albert Hall. This year has seen so many great acts take to the Elgar Room's stage, and the Wave Machines promise to be no different.' Lucy Noble, Head of Programming.
The hush series is another step in affirming the Royal Albert Hall's status as both an inclusive and accessible venue and one with the versatility to transcend the cultural generations. hush joins The Albert Sessions launched earlier this year, to become another impressive manifestation of the Royal Albert Hall's dedication to new artists.
Tickets are priced £7.50 and are available from www.royalalberthall.com http://www.royalalberthall.com
