The Canadian singer is constantly amazed by the amount of untrue stories he hears about himself. He manages to laugh most of them off, even though at times they make him look silly.
The star is due to wed Luisana Lopilato next April, the same month Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton will tie the knot. He previously joked he chose a different day to the royals to ensure his wedding didn’t eclipse theirs, and was shocked when people thought he meant he wanted his wedding to get more coverage.
“There’s always tonnes of stuff about my kids and things. About my kids – I don’t have any kids!” he laughed.
Michael is looking forward to his big day, but admits he’s struggling with nerves as it draws closer. He hopes to make the day extra special for Luisana as he knows she has dreamed about it for a long time, and even offered to perform some love songs for her. Michael thought he was being romantic with the offer, but his fiancée had other ideas.
“The truth is, I know a lot of women dream of that day. It’s a big deal for them, and they want this to be perfect and I’m a boy. I didn’t grow up thinking about my wedding day. So for me, I just want it to be good for her so she can feel like she had the perfect day,” he explained to British TV show Daybreak. “I asked my fiancée if she wanted me to sing and she said no. She said, ‘I want Ricardo Montaner.’ So now I’ve got Ricardo Montaner coming.”
