Michael Buble swears at his wife in Spanish so his friends think he's being romantic.
The 37-year-old Canadian and his Argentinean wife Luisana didn't speak each other's language when they met, although he's been learning and joked it helps him hide embarrassing public arguments.
Speaking to the Sunday Times Magazine: 'Two languages are very handy ... When we fight in front of my friends I'll smile and say to her, 'En verdad, no estay contendo. Eres una gran perra'.
'My friends'll say, 'Aww, that's so cute'. But in reality, I'm telling Lu that she's being a massive bitch.'
Although Michael might think he's learning enough to get by, he admitted his wife isn't quite as impressed with his progress.
He added: 'Lu and I didn't share a language when we first met. She didn't speak much English, and I didn't speak much Spanish. But I've been learning it and I'm getting pretty good - although Lu says I still sound like a caveman.'
The 'Haven't Met You Yet' singer won't be disagreeing with her anytime soon, conceding she is definitely the boss in their relationship.
He admitted: 'Lu's the alpha in our marriage, so I've learnt it's easier to just do as she says than have her break my balls about it.'
