Micheal Jackson's hugely iconic 'Thriller' video is due for a special 3-D rerelease, due out next year.
The news follows director John Landis having finally settled his dispute with the singer's estate. In 2009, six months prior tro Jackson's death, Landis filed a suit citing "fraudulent, malicious and oppressive conduct" in relation to the video. Reportedly the director was attempting to secure 50% of the estimated $1 million next profits from the video.
"That lawsuit went on for so many years, but we settled and they paid me finally," Landis told The New York Daily News. "And so, actually there is something happening with 'Thriller.' It is going to reappear in a highly polished and three-dimensional way that is very exciting on the big screen."
Originally Jackson had plans to turn 'Thriller' into a 3-D experience for his This Is It London residency. Now however, it looks like it will be recieving a Blu-ray and even a theatre release during 2015.
