Harry Styles has reportedly made a buddy in the form of Sir Mick Jagger.
The two British stars - one a Rolling Stones legend, the other a One Direction heartthrob - are said to have struck up a bond, which apparently sees them hang out together and even regularly chat on the phone.
"Harry made it clear he was a big fan of Mick but never expected he'd take any notice. But people kept telling Mick how much Harry looked like a younger version of him so he started to investigate One Direction," a music insider revealed to British newspaper The Sun.
Harry, 20, is often compared to Mick and seemingly mimics his rock-star style.
While Mick, 71, may be over 50 years older than the young stud, they've apparently found lots of common ground.
"Mick's not a massive fan of their music because he's a rocker to the core, but he thinks they're lovely young lads and took a shine to Harry.
"He invited him to a special party during the Stones' tour and they instantly hit it off.
"They swapped numbers and now regularly phone each other just to chat. Harry can't believe it," the source added.
Because of the age gap, some may think Mick is taking on a teacher role; but those close to the stars says it's a genuine friendship that has blossomed.
"It's very much a friendship. Mick isn't trying to be a mentor or anything like that, which is why Harry likes him so much," the insider explained.
Close bond aside, both men are busy with their respective bands. One Direction are still on their Where We Are Tour, currently playing dates in the US.
Meanwhile, The Rolling Stones are getting ready to fly to Australia in two weeks to resume their gigs there, after they were delayed earlier this year following the death of Mick's girlfriend L'Wren Scott. The legendary rockers will even be giving audiences some new material to enjoy.
"They've been doing some recording during rehearsals and might be ready to try a couple out. The fans will be very excited," the source said.
