Mick Jagger has dismissed claims that The Rolling Stones will be performing at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London.
The frontman revealed that the band have not been asked to appear at the event and if they did they would decline the offer.
In an interview with the BBC, Jagger said: ''Bryan Adams said, 'Whatever you do, don't do any Olympic openings', after he did the opening of the winter games in Canada.''
He added: "It was so cold, and he had to wear this bizarre suit. That's not going to happen here - it would just rain."
The singer also criticised the 2008 games in Beijing: ''It wasn't a brilliant piece of theatre when they left the stadium with a London bus with Jimmy Page on it. I don't want to be on that bus when it arrives in London."
There had been speculation yesterday (September 14) that the group were planning a special tour for their 50th anniversary next year.
