Multi-award winning Ms. Dynamite and breakthrough hip-hop star Professor Green are the first acts to be announced for this year's Turning Point Festival at Camden's Roundhouse, 17-19 September.
The only London music festival to be completely created and controlled by young people aged 25 and under, Turning Point brings the best in live music, dance, comedy and theatre. After a sell-out debut in 2009 - boasting performances from the likes of Noisettes, Kano and Zane Lowe - Turning Point returns with a bang to round off the 2010 UK summer festival season.
Friday night opens with the cream of UK bass music, bringing you the best sub-heavy rave through the night. Rising stars, including Toddla T (Radio 1) and Breakage, will be hitting you with dirty bass beats.
Saturday will be an epic all-day urban takeover hosted by 1xtra's Mista Jam, with a comeback performance from the first lady of UK garage, Ms. Dynamite. The Mercury and multiple MOBO award winning artist will take over the main stage with the inimitable musical creativity and lyrical talent which brought the UK garage movement into the mainstream.
Also performing is UK hip-hop firebrand Professor Green, who last month hijacked the UK charts with INXS sampled hip-hop/pop crossover track I Need You Tonight . His new single with Lily Allen is set to storm the charts too. With fresh gritty tunes and wry observations, Professor Green's presence at Turning Point is sure to pack a punch. Other highlights include BBC Sound of 2010 nominee Devlin, soul boy Bluey Robinson, UK funky hitmaker Donae'o and grime star JME.
Sunday will be rounded off with a genre twisting display of music and film. King Charles brings his bizarre blend of psychedelic folk pop whilst dark and deadly indie rockers, O Children, add their menacing melodies to the mix.
