Mumford & Sons will strap on the football boots for a charity soccer match in Sydney this Friday.
Mumford & Sons will compete with The Vaccines, stars of Bondi Rescue, the Dungog Boomerangs and youth leaders from NCIE as well as music biz peeps from Dew Process, Sony, I Oh You, Purple Sneakers, Stoney Roads and UndrCtrl.
"The gift that keeps on giving. If there's one thing that unites us and our crew and most of the British bands we get to go on tour with, it's not music, it's football. It's the subject that anyone who's never met can suddenly become intimate over, it's the ultimate leveller, and it's the greatest sport on earth. We love football. Football." Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons said in a statement.
The Soccer round robin will be open to the public from 5.45pm (first game kicks off at 6pm). Entry is a $5 donation, with all proceeds going to the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence and the Dungog Community.
"Football is everything to me. It's empowering, it's humanising, it's beautiful and it's fun. For all of the highs and all of the catharsis that music provides me with, there is no feeling in the world like playing good football with good friends," said Justin Hayward, The Vaccines
