My Chemical Romance have hired a new drummer following the sacking of Mike Pedicone after he was caught stealing from the band.
Jarrod Alexander, former drummer of Death By Stereo and Suicide File, made his live debut with the band on Saturday night (September 3) at their Salt Lake City show.
It has not been confirmed whether Alexander will continue to tour with the band for their planned forthcoming live shows.
The band released a statement over the weekend (September 3) after sacking Mike Pedicone from the band when the drummer was caught ‘red-handed’ stealing after a concert in Washington.
“Some s*it happened and before the blogosphere gets all crazy with false statements and ridiculous opinions we want the true story to come from us. But please listen close because this is the only time we are ever going to talk about this. The relationship between My Chemical Romance and Michael Pedicone is over. He was caught red handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show in Auburn, Washington.''
Mike Pedicone took to Twitter to speak about the incident: ''What happened is more complicated than it sounds but I did make a mistake. It was never my intention to hurt this band or all of you. It was an error in judgement based on a whole other situation that's way deeper but this does not define me.''
In an exclusive interview with Gigwise at this year's Leeds festival, the band's frontman Gerard Way said they will return to the studio later this year to work on the follow-up to 2010's 'Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys'.
