My Chemical Romance hit Virgin

Emo heroes My Chemical Romance have marched their black parade to London's flagship Virgin Megastore at short notice for a surprise secret gig and the followers - even those without wristbands - are out in force to catch a rare glimpse in such an intimate venue.
Penned in downstairs, the excitable, lucky minority eagerly chant for drummer "Bob" while the kit is sound checked and repeat "MCR, MCR" before screams, and a few tears, greet the black-clad band who are heavily promoting their much-hyped third album.
"We are My Chemical…," hollers parade leader Gerard Way. Naturally the crowd fill in the blank and not for the last time. Lead vocals - sometimes lacking a little volume - aren't always necessary with audience-led verses and choruses sweeping the show.
Opening and closing with old favourites 'Give 'Em Hell Kid' and 'I'm Not Okay (I Promise)', respectively the band air new album tracks 'Dead!', 'House Of Wolves', 'Famous Last Words' and current single 'Welcome To The Black Parade'. When the keyboardist steps up, fans name that tune in one and proceed to belt out the introduction to the epic track.
Despite the surreal location the performance breeds the usual energy and endearing quirks. Guitarist Frank ends up writhing on the floor and Gerard hams it up wickedly but uses his privileged position to assertively correct the "bullshit" that recently littered the non-musical press: "We're not at war. We're certainly not at war with each other. Do you understand?"
Harmony ensues but who let Towers of London in? Spying them causing a furore at the side platinum-blonde Gerard wisely decides not to interrupt the show. Nobody cared anyway. Tonight was all about My Chemical Romance and it's going to be for a while yet. You have been warned, but please do not panic.
