My Chemical Romance have hit back over criticism they received for allowing US show Glee to use one of their songs.
After the band allowed the show to use their track 'Sing' in a recent episode the show was accused of spreading "propaganda'' by US broadcaster Gleen Beck.
''It's stirred up what it needed to stir up - the fat cats in America. We were very honest about why we did it," frontman Gerard Way told BBC Newsbeat.
He added: "I think people understand now why we did it. It rubbed the right people the wrong way. We didn't care if anyone didn't get it. I kind of refuse to defend myself,"
"I feel like it was validation that we're doing something right. If we're getting reaction from people like that we're doing something right," said bassist Mikey Way.
My Chemical Romance recently released a special version of 'Sing' for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
