MYSTERY JETS caused a riot among their "obsessive" fans when they played their first-ever gig in Mexico.
The indie band arrived in the Latin American country last week but said they were completely unaware of how big their fanbase was there.
Speaking to NME.com, frontman Blaine Harrison said: "We didn't know what to expect because none of us had ever been there.
"But we had a really good turn out for our shows. We also played a live radio station gig in Mexico City that turned into a bit of a riot."
And he added that fans who had bought tickets for previous cancelled shows turned en masse up to see them perform.
He said: "People had scanned our photos from the internet and put them on their T-shirts. They're quite obsessive down there."
Harrison said the band were also surprised to find themselves headlining the MX Beat Festival in Guadalajara as they weren't told until they arrived onsite.
He added: "We turned up and it turned out we were headlining above Cat Power!
"We freaked out and we were like, wooh, there are too many people. But people knew all the lyrics, and they've invited us back to do two more festivals in Mexico in mid-March."
