Ne-Yo needs noise at all times as silence "irks" him.
The R&B singer-and-songwriter has worked with some of the most notable names in the industry, including songstress Beyoncé Knowles.
The musician is comforted by sounds of all kinds and finds it difficult to fall asleep without some type of melody in the background.
"I have to listen to music when I sleep - having no sound in the room irks me," Ne-Yo told In Touch magazine.
The star also prefers to be in his birthday suit before he crawls into bed.
When he finally does feel settled enough to dream, Ne-Yo doesn't count sheep to reach REM sleep.
"I sleep in the buff," he revealed. "[I watch] the inside of my eyelids - I was sleeping! Which I don't get to do often!"
Although Ne-Yo loves the comforts of home, he doesn't consider himself to be domestic and will rarely be found preparing a meal in the kitchen.
"[I cooked] nothing, because I don't want anyone to die!" he laughed. "But I made a turkey-and-cheese sandwich [last time I was home]."
Ultimately Ne-Yo keeps himself in tip top shape. Overeating doesn't ever excite the star.
"I can't binge; my personal trainer would kill me," he said.
Ne-Yo recently listed the superstars who helped shape his career.
He calls Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Sammy Davis Jr. his "Four Kings" and learnt how to dance by copying them.
"I'm not a natural. I had to teach myself - or be taught - everything I do. I just spent hours and hours in the mirror mimicking Michael Jackson," he told Esquire previously.
