The two stars have collaborated twice before - on Ne Yo's 'Call Me Crazy' and Jay's 'Minority Report' - but the 'Beautiful Monster' hitmaker believes they have not yet realised their full potential together.
He said: "Jay featured on a track of mine on my second album, and I featured on one of his on his 'Kingdom Come' album but we haven't done anything since then.
"Jay is a good friend, he's a good person. Though we've worked together I think there's potential for a classic record there and we haven't really realised that potential yet."
The 31-year-old star also blasted a lack of creativity in music, arguing record labels are only interested in making money by copying whichever sounds are popular at the time.
He added: "The message I want artists to grasp is we need to start trying different things and stop following whatever is hot.
"I think the reason why music is so stagnant now is nobody wants to be creative anymore, everyone wants to be the hottest the fastest and costs the least amount of money to make the most.
"Nobody cares about art any more, few and far between are the artists who care about art."
