Billy Talbot Suffers Stroke, Leaves Crazy Horse Tour
Neil Young and Crazy Horse's longtime bassist Billy Talbot has suffered a mild stroke and won't be able to tour with the band when they go to Europe.
According to sources, while the condition will keep Talbot off the road, it is not debilitating and he is expected to make a full recovery.
For now, Rick Rosas will take bass duties with the band and vocalists Dorene Carter and YaDonna West will be added to fill in for Talbot's backup vocals. Rosas has worked with Young before in both Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Buffalo Springfield and as a member of his solo band.
Talbot has been working with fellow Crazy Horse members Ralph Molina and Danny Whitten since 1960 when they formed the doo wop group Danny and the Memories. They eventually added instruments to become the The Psyrcle, the Rockets and, in 1967, Crazy Horse.
