A fire in a garage owned by Neil Young has destroyed about $1 million of the singer's memorabilia.
The fire broke out overnight at around 3am in the 10,000 square foot garage at 593 Quarry Road, in the La Honda district of San Francisco where Young kept six vintage cars and personal items such as paintings and pictures.
The building copped $250,000 in damages but the contents destroyed were valued at around $750,000.
Fire Fighters managed to save about 70% of the items inside.
Police say there was no foul play and that no-one was injured. The fire was extinguished by 3.45am.
