A recently discovered extinct long-legged pig has been named after The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger, due to its "tactile lips."
The 19 million-year-old creature was discovered at a sand-covered site in remote Egypt recently, and was given the name "Jaggermeryx naida", which means Jagger's water nymph.
Ellen Miller, who co-authored the paper which announced the discovery, told The Guardian: "I'm a huge Stones fan."
She added that the creature's "highly innervated muzzle with mobile and tactile lips" reminded her of Jagger, despite some lab-mates campaigning for it to be named instead after Angelina Jolie.
The creature has been likened to a lanky pig or a skinny hippo, both of which would make brilliant/terrible band names.
