Pop star Nick Carter has become a first-time father.
The Backstreet Boys singer and his wife, Lauren, welcomed son Odin Reign Carter on Tuesday (19Apr16).
According to Entertainment Tonight, the new mum had a home water birth and the couple's baby boy arrived after a 30-hour labour.
Nick had previously teased fans about the secret name they had picked out for their first child.
"It's a very strong name," the 36-year-old revealed earlier this month (Apr16). "We can't say the name yet. I've been instructed by my wife to keep it under wraps, but we have a name."
Odin is known in Germanic mythology to be the name of a "widely revered god".
The couple's baby news first emerged in late October (15), and Nick subsequently admitted he and Lauren had been struggling to conceive as he opened up about the pregnancy during his stint on U.S. competition Dancing With the Stars.
"We've been trying to have a baby for about a year now," he explained. "It's been rocky, to be quite honest with you. There's been times when we thought it wouldn't happen."
"We were pregnant before and we lost the baby," Lauren added. "It was really hard on Nick. Just watching him get so excited about something (and) then just see him so hurt was hard (sic)."
The couple celebrated the tot's impending birth at a baby shower last month (Mar16), and Nick has not been able to stop gushing about his wife's excitement about becoming a mother.
"I don't want to get all sappy, (but) she's the reason I felt comfortable, and I knew that she would be the perfect mother," Nick told ET. "She would be able to help me teach our child all the things that he needs to learn."
The couple wed in 2014.
