Celebrated singer-songwriter Nick Heyward will headline Let's Rock The Moor, an open air charity concert which will bring the Cookham Festival 2009 to a close, in style. The rock concert, a first for the Festival, is on Bank Holiday Monday May 4th at 6.30pm on Cookham Moor. Strong supporting acts include Soul'd Out, Temposhark, The Plants and Burdock.
Tickets are on sale from £15 for adults and £10 for children under twelve. During the afternoon the Cookham Festival features May Day on the Moor from 1.00pm to 5.30pm. This will feature local bands playing live all afternoon from 1.00pm on the main stage as well as a variety of other May day activities for all ages next to the main concert arena
The twelve day Festival from April 24th to May 4th goes from strength to strength and this year's programme of music, arts, poetry and literature has something for everyone. All musical tastes are covered with concerts from jazz to opera, baroque to rock! And for those who like singing Cookham Sings! is for you, come and perform opera choruses 'from scratch' under the Direction of Ralph Allwood, the Director of Music at Eton College on Saturday 25th April. Rehearse in the morning and afternoon and perform in the evening.
